Cellulose to Celluloid: Flash Gordon on Paper and Film
Chapter Thirteen: There is more to Zarkov's Invisibility Ray than meets the eye!

Flash made some minor mischief with the ray before Ming's soldiers destroyed it in the movie.

This Invisibility Ray gimmick led to a whole new chapter in Raymond's Witch Queen of Mongo saga.

The Saturday serial and Sunday comic featured Flash raiding the throne rooms of Azura and Ming.

This Invisibility Ray gimmick was over a year old when Universal stole the idea.

Flash did some low comedy and played some slapstick tricks with his adversaries on paper and film.

One result of the invisibile palace raids was --
Azura and Ming were both ROYALLY PISSED OFF.

Flash used his invisibility to spring his Hawkman ally ...

... from the dungeons of his enemies.

On the Sunday pages, the Invisibility Ray caper preceded a bizzare underground adventure with Queen Azura, after which she allied herself with the Earth People.

Princess Aura implacably makes more mischief after
Flash's invisible shenanigans. (See Chapter 14)
