Reflections: Patterns in Wood & Metal by David Secrest
August 5
through October 1
Sponsored by Semitool, Inc.

See an impressive installation of sculptural works by Somers artist David Secrest. Created from a diverse repertoire of materials including steel, iron, wrought iron and sand-cast bronze and over thirty years of experimentation and material manipulation, Secrest’s work is characterized by surfaces of tessellated tile and folded pattern-welded techniques. His chosen medium influences the outcome but through the creative process, he experiments with different forms and how they relate to the finished structure. Much of his work incorporates patterns influenced by the natural textures found in his medium.

The Museum is offering an artist’s studio tour of Secrest’s studio in Somers on Wednesday, September 6 at 10 a.m. A $10 donation is requested for the tour. To reserve your space on the tour, please call 755-5268.
