Robert A.M. Stephens (1952 -  )

Robert A.M. Stephens was a long-time resident of Whitefish, Montana, who began producing "Illuminist" landscapes in the late 1970's. He was a fireman and forester, attending FVCC and the University of Montana, and began his long association with NASA as an artist/contractor around 1984. Some of his work was selected to tour in the Smithsonian's "Visions of Flight" exhibition. He was a candidate for NASA's Artist in Space program, and showed his painting "For Judy, Farewell…From the Traveler" in late 1986, as a tribute to Challenger astronaut Judith Resnik in Kalispell's Ace Powell Gallery. His images are in the collections of NASA, the Smithsonian Institution, Lockheed, McDonnell/Douglas Astronautics, Boeing, TRW, Hercules, Rockwell, Department of Defense, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Greyhound, Rolls-Royce, London, and others too numerous to mention.
