Gordon on Paper and Film
Chapter
Six: Emperor Ming is up to NO GOOD with his Dehumanizer
Ray
|
Now
what was Ming up to before they were all interrupted
by those rude Space Gyros? |
Ming's
speech from above was used in the movie too,
in a slightly altered context. |
In both versions, he was preparing Dale Arden for a
"fate worse than death" in his harem.
An electronic ray deprives the feisty Earth woman of
her free will before the unholy ceremony begins. |
Raymond's "wedding" is grander than the cash-strapped
movie version -- shot on a set borrowed from Universal's
Mummy films. Jean
Rogers is GORGEOUS as Dale Arden, but Flash and
Thun are still lurking nearby to rescue her. |
