French
Actor and Clown Daniel Rovai & Some of his Associates
Left to Right: Unidentified Musician, Stan (Jango) Edwards, Daniel Rovai, and
Johnny Melville Onstage at the Openlucht Theater in Vodel Park, Amsterdam
I
first met Daniel Rovai when he played Peter Pan in Footsbarn Theatre's rolicking
re-interpretation during the winter of 1976-77, and he was with them during the
excellent Dancing Bear in the summer of 1977. He was in and out of Footsbarn
during the following decades, doing shows like The Barneys, Rendez-vous
(with John Bickersteth on piano), and took part in "Mir Caravan"
-- a six-month tour of Eastern Europe with seven other theatre groups. He did
Daniel's Fools Party in Copenhagen, Chalons Spiegel Tent tour, Clowns,
together with Russian performer Genia Sitokin, La Strada, inspired from
Fellini, and further work with Footsbarn spin-off "Ton und Kirschen Wander
Theater." He also did The Fools Revival with Johnny Melville in Vondelpark,
Amsterdam, plus Destin de Clown with musician Stan Haywood and Lorand Sarna.
There is much more to tell about, including films, at his WEBSITE. |
